InnoGrit Demos PCIe 5.0 x4 SSD Controller Tacoma at FMS 2022: Random Read IOPs Up To 3M

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (PRWEB) August 08, 2022 - The 2022 FMS (the 16th Flash Memory Summit) was held at the Santa Clara Convention Center on Aug 2~4, 2022. FMS is an internationally influential summit for the storage industry. InnoGrit was very pleased to share with industry partners the company's recent successes. The following products, in particular during the live demonstration session, were exhibited with exceptional performance:

1. PCIe 5.0 SSD reference design?with Random Read up to 3M IOPs

The Tacoma IG5669 PCIe 5.0 x4 SSD controller, released by InnoGrit in the first half of 2022, attracted much attention. It enables sequential read and write speeds of up to 14GB/s and 11GB/s, respectively. It displays the amazing Random Read up to 3M IOPs during the live demonstration session.

Tacoma IG5669 represents the next generation SSD controller, extending the capabilities of advanced storage controller technology and maximizing PCIe Gen 5's capabilities.

Tacoma IG5669 features 16 or 18 NAND channels, PCIe 5.0 x4, and NVMe 2.0. To fully take advantage of PCIe 5.0's bandwidth advantage and to fulfill the fast expanding data storage and computation requirements, it utilizes multiple RISC-V CPU cores. Widespread applications for it include high-end data centers, enterprise software, and high-performance PCs..

2. PCIe 4.0 DRAMless SSD reference design?with NAND speed reaching 2400 MT/s

In 2021, InnoGrit introduced the RainierQX IG5220-PCIe 4.0 x4 DRAMless SSD controller. It was the first PCIe 4.0 DRAMless SSD controller that could offer 2400 MT/s NAND speed. In the mid to high-end consumer SSD market, RainierQX, with NAND speed of 2400MT/s, is one of the most cost-effective alternatives to DRAM-based solutions with excellent performance and low power consumption. It supports sequential read speeds of up to 7.4GB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6.4GB/s.

3. PCIe 4.0 ZNS SSD reference design

InnoGrit is utilizing its advanced controllers to provide customized SSD solutions to their customers. Based on its Rainier family of SoCs, which are used in multiple tier-1 data centers, InnoGrit conceived and produced the PCIe 4.0 ZNS SSD reference design, among other important products.

At FMS, InnoGrit's customized PCIe 4.0 ZNS SSD solution demonstrated increased SSD performance for data center applications like RocksDB by eliminating background garbage collection.
