LEESBURG, Va. (PRWEB) June 15, 2023 - The U.S. Air Force, an official partner of SkillsUSA, will provide support for SkillsUSAs National Leadership & Skills Conference including sponsorship and participation in a community service project on Friday, June 23 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. They will also provide support to SkillsUSA TECHSPO, as well as general mission support.

During the community service project, 550 SkillsUSA students will apply their skills to serve the Atlanta community by participating in the SkillsUSA Build Skills Do Good Complete the Cycle project. The student participants will work in teams to construct childrens bicycles which will then be presented to local children.

Registrants for the community service project have also been challenged to collect up to 1,000 new pairs of socks to be donated to CHRIS 180, a local Atlanta organization. CHRIS 180 helps children, young adults and families who have experienced trauma to help change the direction of their lives to become more productive, self-sufficient members of the community through mental health counseling, training and by providing safe housing and skill building.

We sincerely thank the U.S. Air Force for supporting the community service effort in Atlanta as part of the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, said Chelle Travis, executive director at SkillsUSA.
